Grant King born 1933 in Victoria, British Columbia
Teenage mechanic at local Pacific Northwest tracks, Built 1st car at age 18
Moved to Indianapolis in 1965 to open own race shop, Grant King Racers
Fielded cars in the Indianapolis 500 from 1970-1983
King, his wife Doris, and a small crew produced approximately 250 Race Cars that would be shipped and raced around the globe
King built cars for some of the legendary drivers such as: Rich Vogler, Mario Andretti, Al Unser Sr., A.J. Foyt, Sheldon Kinser, Billy Vukovich, and Gary Bettenhausen – just to name a few
1980’s King shifted from competitive racing to restoring race cars
Tragically, December 18th, 1999 Grant passed away from severe injuries in a two-vehicle automobile accident outside of Indianapolis
